New Visions for Public Schools

New Visions for Public Schools joins DataCation to develop a customized School/District analysis application and Teacher Management System to manage data for their 76 NYC schools.

New Visions is a school reform organization and was the primary intermediary in the creation of many of the small schools in NYC over the last decade: The New Century High School Initiative. The New Century High School initiative has resulted in schools with higher attendance, credit accumulation, and graduation rates--particularly for low income, special education, and ELL students (MDRC, 2010).

New Visions also serves as a Partnership School Organization (PSO) for the NYC Department of Education. This year, New Visions is launching the DataCation suite -- Skedula, NCLB / Graduation, Pupil Path and the PADS portal-- across its network of 76 NYC public schools. In addition, Datacation is customizing automated versions of the New Visions’ data tools (9th grade tracker, college readiness tracker, high school readiness tracker, school snapshot) which will allow schools to visualize and analyze data extracted from New York City Department of Education data systems. This integrated and innovative DataCation system will allow administrators, teachers, parents and students across New Visions schools to monitor student progress, evaluate successful practices, and track students to promotion, graduation and college readiness.
